Pediatric Speech & Language Therapy in Mesa, AZ

Every child communicates differently. At The Therapy Garden, our pediatric speech therapists provide individualized, play-based therapy built around your child's strengths, interests, communication style, and goals. We support toddlers, preschoolers, school-age children, and teens with speech, language, social communication, and AAC needs. Our neurodiversity-affirming approach honors all forms of communication while helping children build meaningful skills for everyday life.

OUR APPROACH TO SPEECH THERAPY

Individualized & Collaborative

Child-Led & Play-Based

Neurodiversity-Affirming and Trauma Informed

Goals are based on your child's needs and priorities, with families involved throughout the process so strategies can carry over into everyday life.

Therapy is built around your child's interests, strengths, and communication style. We use play and meaningful activities to create opportunities for communication and learning.

We respect different ways of communicating and support children in developing communication that is functional, meaningful, and authentic to them.

WHO WE WORK WITH

Toddlers & Late Talkers

We support young children who are using fewer words than expected, having difficulty combining words, or communicating primarily through gestures and other forms of communication.

Preschoolers

We help preschoolers develop speech clarity, language, play, social communication, and the skills they need to participate more fully at home and in early learning environments.

School-Age Children

We support children with speech sound disorders, language differences, social communication needs, fluency, AAC, and other communication challenges that affect everyday participation.

Teens

We support teens in building communication skills that help them navigate school, relationships, work, and everyday life. Therapy may focus on social communication, self-advocacy, executive functioning, language organization, conversation skills, AAC, or other individualized communication goals. We work collaboratively with teens to identify goals that are meaningful to them and support greater confidence and independence.

Neurodivergent Communicators

We provide strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming support for autistic children and children with ADHD and other neurodevelopmental differences, with an emphasis on meaningful communication rather than changing who a child is.

WHAT DOES SPEECH THERAPY LOOK LIKE?

Speech therapy at The Therapy Garden is designed to feel like a place where children can be themselves while building meaningful communication skills.

Depending on your child's goals, a session might include play, books, conversation, movement, pretend play, games, AAC, or other activities that naturally create opportunities for communication. We follow your child's interests and use those moments to work toward individualized goals.

Parents and caregivers are an important part of the process, too. We share strategies and ideas that can be incorporated into everyday routines so communication skills have opportunities to grow beyond the therapy room.
