Pediatric Feeding Therapy in Mesa, AZ

Feeding challenges can look very different from child to child. At The Therapy Garden, we provide individualized pediatric feeding therapy for infants, toddlers, children, and teens with a wide range of feeding and oral-motor needs. Our therapists support children with everything from early feeding and weaning difficulties to oral dysphagia, chewing and swallowing skills, supplemental or tube feeding, food selectivity, and picky eating. We take a responsive, evidence-based approach that considers each child's developmental, sensory, communication, and functional needs.

WHAT CAN FEEDING THERAPY ADDRESS?

Infant Feeding & Weaning

We support infants who are having difficulty transitioning to new feeding stages, including challenges with bottle-to-cup transitions, introduction of solids, or developing the skills needed for age-appropriate eating.

Oral Dysphagia & Feeding Skills

For children with oral-motor or swallowing difficulties, therapy may address skills such as chewing, bolus management, oral coordination, and safely progressing toward more advanced textures and consistencies. When appropriate, we collaborate with your child's medical team regarding recommendations such as thickened liquids or other feeding modifications.

Supplemental & Tube Feeding

Children who receive supplemental nutrition through a G-tube or other feeding support may benefit from therapy focused on developing oral feeding skills, including learning to explore foods, chew, and swallow safely as appropriate for their individual needs.

Picky Eating & Food Selectivity

We support children who eat a very limited variety of foods, strongly prefer specific foods or brands, avoid certain textures, or experience significant stress around new or unfamiliar foods.

WHO WE HELP

Infants

We support infants experiencing difficulties with feeding development, transitioning between feeding stages, bottle or cup transitions, introduction of solids, and other oral feeding concerns.

Toddlers & Preschoolers

We help young children develop chewing and feeding skills, expand their experiences with food, and participate more comfortably in everyday meals.

School-Age Children

We support children with food selectivity, sensory-based feeding differences, oral-motor challenges, swallowing concerns, and other feeding difficulties that affect daily life.

Teens

We work with teens who continue to experience feeding challenges, including restricted food repertoires, difficulty with textures or chewing, and other individualized oral feeding needs.

Children With Supplemental or Tube Feeding

We support children who receive nutrition through a G-tube or other supplemental feeding methods when the goal includes developing or maintaining safe, functional oral feeding skills.
